About Pithy Cyborg (And Why I Created It)
Hey. My name’s Mike D. (aka MrComputerScience.)
I’m an AI nerd, editor, and educator, born and raised in Greater Boston, Massachusetts.
If you’re here, you probably already know that AI feels like drinking from a firehose. Every day brings new tools, new breakthroughs, and new headlines screaming that everything is about to change.
But much of the AI news cycle is hyped beyond recognition, pitched by gurus with something to sell, written by bad-faith detractors, or buried in technical jargon that requires a PhD to decode. Finding reliable insights in all that noise is harder than ever.
I created Pithy Cyborg because I got tired of watching smart, capable people fall behind simply because they didn’t have time to sort through the noise.
A Little About Me
I’ve spent years in tech and online education, including teaching on Udemy, where my courses have attracted over 37,000 enrollments from students in 140+ countries. I also have multiple science degrees and years of experience working in IT for major enterprise organizations.
And honestly? Some days I feel just as overwhelmed by AI as anyone else. I spend my days reading about AI and studying nonstop, and even I have trouble putting it all together sometimes. If you feel like you're drowning in the noise, you aren't alone.
But there is one thing I know I can do. I can take complex technical concepts and make them understandable for regular humans. It’s what I’ve been practicing in the real world for years. And it’s what I do here, every week, for you.
